Orchestra London asks city for financial help CBC RADIO ARTS LONDON. Ont. - Officials with Orchestra London in Southwestern Ontario were at city hall Thursday, in a last ditch plea for financial help. Orchestra members say that without a major cash infusion, the orchestra may fold. A report in Friday morning's London Free Press says the orchestra needs $1.2 million to cover its costs for this season alone. The paper also says the orchestra is planning a major fund-raising drive to begin next week. City budget chief Anne Marie DeCicco says the orchestra's financial problems run deep. She says an infusion of money wouldn't be enough; the organization needs fundamental restructuring.
