The journey garden is a “real-life” reflection of the mural “The Journey” which was created by parents from the support groups offered through the Guelph General Hospital and Wellington Hospice.
Artist Charlie Hogg, a hobby horticulturalist who learned about the plans the group had in planting the garden, offered his expertise in developing the garden’s layout and design.
On planting day, rain, sleet and snow did not discourage families from bringing this garden to life. Inspired by shrubs, annuals, roses and butterfly bushes, this garden represents each of the seasons that are reflected in our grief, giving hope to new blooms, while casting seeds of life for new growth. |
