We bring back old, damaged family photos to an almost better than original condition. All our work is done right here on the premises, so your original never leaves our studio. You get back your original photograph, untouched, plus a new retouched copy. HOW TO send your photo to us for restoration/retouching. There are basically two services that we offer for older photographs, one is retouching the other is restoration. Restoration, refers to damaged photos, those that have scratches or cracks and might be fated to a certain extend. In most cases we will need to see the photograph before we can give you a price on the restoration of the original. Retouching would apply to minor scratches, blemishes and slight fading or discoloring. A ball park figure for the cost would be about…
Moderate, Scratches, spots, and/or repair minor tears or creases, improve contrast $55.00 Extensive, more creases or tears, remove unwanted elements, change background. $70.00 Very Extensive, some missing areas, deep creases, and/or replace or move key elements $95.00 Extreme, originals have large areas missing, or large stains or fungus covering important image elements such as faces, hands, etc. $110.00 to $200.00 Please note that these prices are for retouching and restoration only and from a print 8X10 or smaller. The costs of the prints are extra and are as follows...
4-Wallets $20.00 Plus shipping and handling of $4.00 per order. For copies from prints larger that 8X10 please add the cost of making a negative and reducing the print for scanning of $25.00. The final prices are determined after careful review of customers' originals and consideration of work requested. An estimate will be given on all prints that are more that the cost estimates above. Please indicate if you need an exact cost, other that the above prices. HOW TO send your photo to us for restoration/retouching: - 1) Read the chart above carefully to determine what level of restoration will be needed for your photo. If you can't figure it out, go to step 3). 2) Unless you want to pay by credit card, prepare payment for the amount indicated (if you send us a photo that requires a different level of restoration than the one you determined, we will notify you before we do any work); be sure to include appropriate return shipping. Personal checks and commercial money orders must clear our bank first (two weeks); Postal money orders cut your wait time by more than half, and are thus preferred. Make payable to: Fred's Photography - 3) Notify us by e-mail before you ship. - 4) Pack your photo(s) carefully in stiff containers and send by insured mail or UPS or FedEx to the address at the bottom. PLEASE include all your personal information (including e-mail address) as well as any pertinent instructions for the restoration job. * You can now pay for your photo retouching/restoration by credit card: We will contact you by phone to get your credit card number and other information.
