Photos will go on display at Kelsey's Restaurant in Tillsonburg for two weeks with an awards dinner to follow. Display Dates: March 17th - 31st, 2008, Awards Dinner: Monday March 31st, 2008

Ms Photogenic Contest & Session Information

All sessions are arranged by reservation only. The entry fee is pre-paid at the time the appointment is scheduled. The nonrefundable entry fee is not a deposit towards a purchase, but covers the cost of the photography session. (sessions of this nature usually cost $150.00 or more...).

Your prepaid entry fee reserves studio time. We will confirm your session two days in advance, after which time cancellation will not be accepted. Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule, so we may accommodate another client from our waiting list. Please read our” No-show" policy as described on contestant handout.

NO-SHOW POLICY: (please read carefully). Some people make appointments, but do not show up, thus preventing others from booking at that time. Our No-show policy is in effect: If you make an appointment for a specific time and do not show up, you are automatically disqualified. If you need to reschedule, we need a 48 hour notice. Otherwise you will lose your deposit.

What do I wear?
With your entry fee of $39.00, you are allowed one outfit...however, you can bring along more outfits...each additional outfit you wear is $10.00 extra . We ask that you bring along a variety of clothes (different styles, different colors), from formal to casual, to elegant, whatever you think will create a visual impact to impress the judges. For ideas, look through fashion magazines, music videos, etc. Remember that we want to create a unique look rather than an everyday look. While quickly leafing through magazines, ask yourself what makes you stop to look at certain photos. That is what our objective will be: to force anyone to stop dead in their tracks to look at this photograph. When selecting clothes, keep that in mind. Stay away from plaids and heavy patterns as they will only create unnecessary distractions.

How do I pose?
If you have any magazine clips, bring them along. They make great idea starters. Otherwise, don't worry about a thing. When you come to a professional photographer, it is our job to pose you in the way in which you look best. Just relax, and have fun! It's all about feeling good about yourself. We want you to have the time of your life while we create the perfect image for you!

Who are the judges?
Ms. Photogenic Award will be selected by a panel of five judges from Southern Ontario, in order to make sure that no one knows any of the participants. This guarantees a fair, un-bias approach to judging.

People's Choice Award will be selected at Kelsey's by voting for the photo of your choice with a Tooney and all proceeds will go to the Oxford County Women's Emergency Centre. In 2007 we presented over $1200.00 to the Oxford County Women’s Emergency Centre. Details will be provided at Kelsey's.

Can I obtain any of the photos?
Yes, you may purchase any or all of the photos, in any size or quantity. There is a special discount of 20%, if photos are ordered within 7 days of the session. Otherwise, you may purchase portraits afterwards, at our regular prices.

Ms. Photogenic Awards: 1st Prize $500.00 model portrait portfolio.
2nd and 3rd Prize $250.00 model or portrait portfolio
People's Choice Award: Over $1000.00 in prizes.
