Our vacation in Torreblanca Condominiums in Puerto Marques Bay.

In 1987 we had our really first taste of the Puerto Marques Bay, however let me back up about a year. The year before that my wife Jane and I had gone to Acapulco and stayed at the LaPalapa Hotel. That year we were traveling with my brother-in-law Toni and his wife Norma.

We had warned them to be cautious about getting trapped into Time Share properties. Well on one day we had gone out on our own and when we got back Toni and Norma were looking over a table full of paper, yes they had bought a Time Share Property at the Torreblanca Condominiums.

That day they had gone for a walk on the Costera Boulevard and were offered a scenic boat tour of Acapulco bay. This tour included a lunch at the Torreblanca Condominiums; and all they had to do for this was to take a tour and sit through about half hour presentation on the Condominium. Well to make a long story short they ended up getting caught in the excitement and signing on the dotted line and the rest is history so to speak. When I get a little more time I will write about my opinion on Time Share.

So January 1987 rolled around and we were on our way to Acapulco or should I say just outside of Acapulco at Puerto Marques Bay. We had tried to book and exchange Time Share downtown or better yet on the main Costera in Acapulco but they could not find an exchange. So we booked in Torreblanca Condominiums.

Now as it happens, our plane was delayed by 10 hours and so instead of leaving at 10:00 am we did not take off until 7:00 and arrived at our condominium till 2:00 am the next morning. Needles to say since we were at a condominium there were no English speaking people available. The night guard had no clue what room they had reserved for us all ready with groceries, water and Cerveza. So for that first night we spend the four of us in a single bedroom with one king size bed.

Anyone that has even been to Acapulco well knows that Acapulco is surrounded by Steep cliffs of the Sierra Mountains. In betweens these surround mountains are the beautiful bays and secluded beaches along Mexico's southern Pacific coast. Acapulco is a vibrant, world-class resort that also provides tranquility to those who desire a slower pace.

Halfway in between the airport and the Acapulco bay is Puerto Marques Bay. To really enjoy the breathtaking view of Puerto Marques Bay one needs to stop at the lookout point on the way from Acapulco. From that lookout point one can clearly see the World International Vacation Club's Torreblanca Condominiums.

I must say that I really enjoyed my stay at Torreblanca and it was most likely because they are located away from the hustle and bustle of the city. After all these years I can still remember getting up in the morning and being able to enjoy sitting on the balcony with a great cup of coffee and watching Puerto Marques Bay. Before I forget I must tell you that back in 1987 Puerto Marques looked really different from what it looks like today. All the restaurants along the bay were more like palapas covered with palm branches. A few years ago they rebuild all the hotels and replaced or rebuild all the restaurants with concrete walls and new metal roofs. But even today the surrounding atmosphere has not changed much from the traditional Mexican flavor.

If you love a good fish dinner along with the quit noise of waves rolling on the beach then a visit to Puerto Marques is a must visit on your vacation to Acapulco. The restaurant that we always stop at is only about 2-3 stall before you get to Torreblanca and is called Pepe's. Because Puerto Marques is a secluded bay it is a great place to spend the day swimming, boating and relaxing. If you want to get to Puerto Marques quickly you can just take a taxi and within minutes you will be there from Acapulco. Naturally if you are staying in Puerto Marques you can get back to the heart of downtown Acapulco with its many restaurants and exciting night life. Now you can also the bus back and forth as the bus comes along about every 15-20 minutes and I believe it is less than a dollar to get to and from Acapulco or Puerto Marques.

I really enjoyed the Torreblanca condominium as from its hillside vantage point has it all, scenic views, peaceful surroundings. At the time we stayed there they had their own private beach nearby and of course the many the beaches along the Bay. If you want to rent a boat, do some fishing or snorkeling, you can do it al right here is Puerto Marques. The Torreblanca also has a great pool, restaurant and bar area to enjoy. And the local area also offer Auto rentals, boat rentals, churches, medical facilities, pharmacy, restaurants. Yes many restaurants, I don't know how many but there must be close to 50 restaurants al serving and specializing in fish dishes.

Torreblanca condominium offers fully furnished, air conditioned one and two bedroom suites with kitchenettes including stove and refrigerator, TV, maid services, towels and linens.

Off course from here you can arrange all the same tours as those offered in Acapulco like..
Cliff divers, zoo and botanical gardens, water park, Acapulco Cultural Center, bull fights, bay cruises, handcrafted clothing, artifacts, beaches for swimming, sunning and water sports.
