Camp BEL

Camp BEL has been named after the late Bert Eldon Langford.

The camp has approximately 30 acres of clear camping and activity area as well as 30 acres of wooded grounds. It backs up to the Thames River that is suitable for some canoeing activities in the early summer months.

Camp Bel is host to the annual Dorchester International Brotherhood Camporee (DIBC) the largest annual scout camp held in North America with approx. 3600 participants and 100+ events and displays. In the spring of 1996, we were host to the Venturer International Camporee. In addition, we have hosted both the 1st and 2nd Biannual regional week-long camps in 1994 and 1996. We also now host, an annual camporee weekend for cubs. More information on this can be obtained with an e-mail.
