OUR PROGRAM

Provides care for children from birth to two and a half years of age. In cooperation with the Oxford Board of Education we are an integral part of the Young Parents in School Program.


OBJECTIVES

1. To provide opportunities for experiences that will help children achieve their potential growth in all areas of development : physical, social, emotional, and intellectual.

2. To provide a positive and nurturing environment for both children and parents, where staff work in partnership with parents.

3. To be a resource for information on child development, child care techniques and family support services in the community.


YOUNG PARENTS IN SCHOOL PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

1. To give student the opportunity to work toward completing their high school diploma, with confidence that their children are receiving high quality care.

2. Students participate in the children's program providing opportunities to practice parenting skills, to observe and learn new child rearing techniques and to gain confidence in their role as parents.

3. Students have opportunities to receive support and encouragement from staff and fellow student parents, through individual and group contact.

4. Staff provide help in establishing links between school, home and other community agencies.
