We were founded in 1897 to preserve and promote the history of Oxford County, in south-west Ontario. For the past 100 years, the Society has worked to further public interest in the history of the county and to maintain records for future generations.


 
 
Meetmonthly, usually, with a guest speaker who is knowledgeable about some aspect of city or county history. Meetings are held in the Grand Hall at the Woodstock Museum on the last wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm. There are no meetings in June, July, August and December.
Preserveimportant historical accounts by recording oral histories and interviews with knowledgeable Oxford County residents.
Promotethe preservation and maintenance of historic private and municipal buildings.
Develop brochures for walking tours of Woodstock, and driving tours of Oxford.
Maintain an archival collection of material about Woodstock and Oxford history.
Assist students and visitors researching Woodstock/Oxford history.
Publish a quarterly newsletter.
