RESPECT FOR LAW

PURPOSE

The program inspires respect for law among young people. Through a variety of events and projects, our youth are exposed to law and the legal process. Special days such as the Non Violence Day help promote the Respect for Law program and encourage peace and harmony within our communities.

HISTORY

1995 was the first year that the Optimist Respect For Law program was first instituted. The program was born when former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had discussions with Past International President Carl Bowen.
