During my 10 year NHL career, I averaged about 57 goals per season. I
also hold the NHL record of nine consecutive 50-goal seasons.

In my first season I scored 53 goals and captured the Calder Trophy
as the league's rookie of the year.

I was only the second player ever (Maurice Richard did it in 1945) to
accomplish the feat to score 50 goals in as many games.

I'm also the only player in NHL history to record Cup winning goals
in consecutive seasons.

Over my NHL career, I scored 573 goals along with 553 assists for
1,126 points in 752 regular season games. I was the first Islander to
hit career scoring marks of 500 goals and 1,000 points. I also had 85
goals and 160 points in 129 playoff games.

My induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame came in 1991. |
