GENEALOGY

I am always looking for more Lorchs to add to my tree so, if you are a Lorch and are interested in the family history then drop me E-mail and we maybe able to help each other out.

I have got my families history back to about 1779 in Germany in a place called ( Hausen, An Der Lauchert) that is just south-east of Frankfurt. Now mine you that is the only town named Hausen today but that doesn't mean the it is the one of old. I must give credit to my cousin Friedrich for doing a lot of the work on the family tree. I have done some but most of the work is his. I also have another Lorch tree from a Bud Lorch that live just a bit away from me here in Canada. I Have a Lorch Registry of all the Lorchs in the world and some ships records stating when some Lorchs came to the USA.

I Have just found a long loss cousin Markus and with his help I now have the family back to 1636 in the same town. This was a great thrill to find someone that had another 4 grandfathers. Markus also had a little story about how the Lorchs came to this little town. He is not sure how much truth there is to it but I thought it was interesting so I will post his words here.

"I am not shure if your are familiar with Friedrich I (Barbarossa, "Red Beard", 12th century) who
was a holy roman emperor. He led several crusades and a tale sais that there were two
Lorch soldiers (brothers) in his army. One time they came by Hausen a.d.L. and one brother
was injured on his leg he couldn't march on further. So both brothers stayed in Hausen and
founded our family there.

Well so much for the tale. It may just be a tale or, if we are lucky, have a bit of truth in it."

        I thought I would start a new page where I would list all Lorch names , e-mail , and area
      on another page so other Lorchs may find them. So when you e-mail me please say if this is ok
      with you so I may post it.

       I am looking for GENCOM files if you have one please send it to me or if you have it on paper
     please contact me as to where to send it. I have my GENCOM files here on the net if you want
     e-mail me and I will send you the url so you may get them. I do not make them too easy to get to
     seeing there is stuff in there that should not be available to the whole world. ( just Lorchs )
