Custom Roll Forming Tips
  • Some General Design Considerations


  • When specifying a material to roll form, make sure you consider material elongation. Generally, the more elongation a material has, the easier it is to bend.

  • Design for uniform section thickness. If you need a portion of your section to be thicker, you might consider a shape that folds over itself.

  • If your shape has a wide, flat area, consider small stiffening ribs to make the shape stronger. Detailed engineering calculations might help in the design process
