LIFE*SPIN is a member of OSEDA, an
alliance created by Self-Employment Delivery Initiatives (SEDI). In this capacity,
we continue to offer a number of pre-self employment awareness workshops designed to allow
people to explore self-employment as an option for their lives. The majority of
low-income individuals, given an opprtunity to discuss their options in a safe
environment, chose not to continue with this particular program.
For those people who see their own businesses as a viable option,
we are offering a comprehensive series of small business development workshops. They
will start in late summer or early fall and include both on-site childcare and
transportation.
These workshops are open to any low-income individual who is not
E.I eligible or a reach back client of Human Resources Development CanadaSelf-Employment,
Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Plan
If you are on Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support plan
and are considering self-employment, you will be subject to a number of provincial
regulations.
