RECRUITING INFORMATION |
|
The London Fire Fighters Pipe Band is currently recruiting pipers and drummers of all skill levels. The band performs at a variety of public and private engagements throughout the year, and competes in PPBSO-sanctioned Highland Games every summer. For the 2009 competition season, the LFFPB plans to compete in both Grade V and Grade III. Pipers and drummers are encouraged but not required to compete, but attendance at non-competitive events is mandatory for all members.
Band practices are held at Saunders Secondary School, located at 941 Viscount Road opposite Westmount Shopping Centre. Practices are every Monday evening between 7:30 pm and 10:00 pm. For the 2008 - 2009 season, practices resume September 22. Please contact the band to confirm practice dates and times if you're thinking of coming out. Experienced pipers and drummers are available to provide instruction on all aspects of piping, drumming, and pipe band performance and competition. The band also operates the PIPING & DRUMMING SCHOOL, which is designed for beginning pipers and drummers. Click here to download an Adobe file containing some of our current parade band repertoire. The band provides a complete uniform, with the exception of white shirt, hose, and ghillies, which the member is required to purchase. However these items are available through the band at reasonable prices. The band also provides reeds for pipers, and provides drums for drummers. If you're interested in a challenging, rewarding, and enjoyable pipe band experience, London Fire Fighters PB may be right for you. Come out and see for yourself!!! |
