2005 STORYBOOK GARDENS EMERGENCY SERVICES DAY - June 19, 2005

The band attended the annual Emergency Services Day at Storybook Gardens, in Springbank Park.

In the background - Engine 12 of the London Fire Department. Also in attendance were the London Police Service and Thames (Middlesex London) EMS.

The band held a combined practice and performance in the park. Here they are playing in front of the Storybook Chapel, a landmark for many years.

LONDON KNIGHTS PARADE OF CHAMPIONS - May 31, 2005

At the personal invitation of London Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco, the band was honoured to lead the Parade of Champions for the 2004 - 2005 London Knights.
A crowd estimated to number at least 15,000 lined the streets of downtown London.
The parade lasted over an hour. We had to play a couple of tunes twice.
The London Knights set numerous records in the 2004 - 2005 season, and triumphed as OHL and CHL champions, winning their first Memorial Cup in 40 years, on home ice. See you again next year!!!

Members of the London Fire Fighters Pipe Band accompany the Honour Guards of St. John Ambulance and the London Fire Department.

The band performed a short program at the commencement of the Gala Dinner, and solo piper Marc Dupuis escorted members of the head table to their places.

WESTERN FAIR WARRIORS' DAY PARADE - September 6, 2003

The 2003 Warriors' Day Parade was held on a beautiful Saturday morning. Led by Drum Major Bill Baines, the band marches south on Quebec Street towards the reviewing stand at Western Fair.

At non-competitive appearances, members of both the Grade III and Grade V bands play side-by-side. In the band's first Warriors' Day Parade, it was awarded "Best Pipe Band" by the judges.

FIREFIGHTER COMBAT CHALLENGE REGIONALS - August 23, 2003

The drum line keeps things moving as competitors from fire departments across Ontario and New York State enter the course.

A beautiful day brought thousands of spectators to watch the best of the best compete in the "toughest two minutes in sport".

The Grade V band successfully resists the siren song of the Vittle Hut, despite a forty-minute wait in the Final Tuning Area.

At long last, the concession stands fade into the distance as the band heads for the line.

In the Grade V circle. The band placed 6th out of 10 in a very tight field of competitors. Congratulations to Syracuse Scottish as the new North American Champions.

To promote a three-day medieval jousting tournament at London's John Labatt Centre, the band led a procession of knights, lords, and ladies on horseback through the downtown core.

BELL WALK FOR KIDS - UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN ONTARIO - May 4, 2003

A contingent of pipers and drummers from the Grade V band formed up at the opening ceremonies of the Bell Walk for Kids. Proceeds from the event benefit Kids Help Phone.
The band led several hundred participants around the track at TD Waterhouse Stadium at U.W.O. Also visible - the London Professional Fire Fighters Association custom mini-pumper, and Sparky the Fire Dog.
LONDON FIRE FIGHTERS VALENTINE'S GALA - February 15, 2003
Grade III Pipe Major Doug Bruce (left) and Grade V Pipe Major Jim Scott (centre) lead the band in its first performance as the London Fire Fighters Pipe Band.
Highland dancer Lauren Baines captivates the crowd, accompanied by the band with "Heights of Dargai" and "Battle of the Somme".
Half of the evening's pipe corps in full stride. To the rear are members of the London Fire Department Honour Guard and the London Police Service Colour Guard.
The band relaxes after opening the London Fire Fighters Valentine's Gala. The Gala raised over $21,000 for the Autism Society.
KIRKIN 'O' THE TARTAN - ST. THOMAS, ONTARIO - September 22, 2002
In one of their last appearances as the St. Thomas Pipe Band,  members of the Grade III and Grade V bands lead a procession through St. Thomas for a Kirkin 'O' The Tartan service.
