Michael Kelland Hutchence Jan. 22, 1960 - Nov. 22, 1997
On the evening of Friday, Nov. 21, 1997 at about 11:30pm (this was EST in North America), my
life changed a little bit when I heard the first news that Michael Hutchence had been found dead in a hotel
room just outside of Sydney, Australia. I had been a fan of him and his band, INXS, for about the
past 12 years or so...I had bought countless CDs, records, tapes, singles, video tapes, and posters, I
had taped them everytime they were on television or radio for any interviews, etc., I had seen them
in concert close to 10 times, and just this past year I had the pleasure of meeting Michael and the
band twice. Needless to say, the news of Michael's death hit me very hard, and thoughts of him will
likely be with me for the rest of my life.
I decided to put this page together as my way of saying 'goodbye' to this talented singer, songwriter,
and performer. Most of this will likely end up being pictures of Michael, as I haven't really decided
how to set this whole page up yet. At least for me, looking at pictures of him helps me to remember
the man he was, the showmanship he possessed on stage, and basically just the 'presence' that was Michael Hutchence.
I hope that you will take the time to stop and sign my 'Memories Of Hutch' book before you leave. I, as well as others, would like to know what other fans are feeling, experiencing, and remembering right now.
