Spitfire MK V

The spitfire is a 100% scale JURCA MJ 100 D. It will be wood construction and be powered by a brand new Ranger 773 V 12 engine. The engine will produce 550 HP at 3300 RPM for five minutes. The climb rate for this aircraft is expected to be 3150 feet per minute and will have a cruising speed of 220 MPH at 2860 RPM 675% 2750 RPM. The empty weight will be 3000 lbs.

The aircraft will be painted in 1940’s camouflage colours complete with Battle of Britain markings. It will have retractable landing gear and a three-blade constant speed propeller.

The aircraft will be available to fly at veteran’s memorial services free of charge within Ontario, Canada. Appearances at events outside Ontario across Canada and the United States will be on pre-arranged invitations only. Appetence requests will need to be made a minimum of six months prior to the day of the appearance.
The aircraft will be based at Gilbert Custom Aircraft in Brantford, Ontario. The maiden flight for the completed aircraft is expected sometime in the year 2005.
