Shockwave 360

The performance of the Shockwave 200 was so spectacular the design and flight team at Gilbert Custom Aircraft decided all it needed was and extra seat. Thus, the Shockwave 360 came to be. The Shockwave 360 is based on features and designs from the Aerobatic Laser 200 – Sukoi 29 – Extra 300.

The design of the aircraft has been enlarged to keep the wing loading and docile characteristics of the shockwave 200 while having two people on board. The shockwave 360 is powered by a Russian MP 14 Vendenyev nine cylinder radial engine producing 400 horse power. The propeller is eight feet in length and is the same as that found on the Sukoi or Yak aircraft.

The empty weight is 1450 lbs. It’s expected climb rate is 5000 feet per minute and will cruise at 180 knots. The Shockwave 360 is fully aerobatic and with final touches applied, it is expected to fly in 2003.
