Files are proffered in reverse chronological order. Last updated Friday, May 18, 2012.
Please note that some of these documents include supplementary materials and expanded content, and therefore may be more extensive than mere summaries of the salient points presented.
Authorship of each write-up is indicated individually in each document.
The provision of these documents in Rich Text Format is intended to enable universal compatibility with all word processors running on all operating systems and hardware platforms. This includes not only Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS, but also Sun/Oracle Solaris (Unix) as well as countless Linux variants. Compatible word processors include Microsoft Office Word, Corel WordPerfect, Lotus WordPro, Sun StarOffice, and Oracle/Sun Open Office. You can save these RTF files to your local hard drive, and open them from there with your favourite word processor. Windows users can simply click or double-click on the file name.
Note: Some user-interface-related changes in the latest versions of Microsoft Windows (e.g. Vista and Windows 7), along with changes in the variety of web-browser interfaces, might result in momentary confusion for some users. But generally, clicking on the file name should give you the option of either opening the file with your word processor (e.g. Microsoft Word), or of saving it to your local hard drive.
The first option (i.e. opening the file directly using your word-processing package) typically results in the file opening in a new window. Depending on your computer setup, an icon in your taskbar may flash in order to alert you to this. Meanwhile, if you choose to save the file to your local hard drive, you may be prompted for the file format (RTF). Rich Text Format (RTF) is an older file format that was invented to enable compatibility for all word processors, and it continues to be ideal for this purpose.
