If you've never used a slip
bobber before - and I'm amazed at how many haven't -
you should learn how to properly use 'em - slip
bobbers are a wonderful 'tool'
for EVERY fisherman! These are a good quality (
not fancy, nor
expensive, just good - but not cheap either) slip bobber -
I've been using 'em for years. Most of mine get lost to
others borrowing them! I use a slip bobber because I can
suspend my bait over/in suspended crappie and 'gills, or just
over submerged weed beds - no matter how deep. One of the great
qualities of slip bobbers is that you can fish with your bait
down as deep as you wish as when 'rigged up' right, the bobber
stop ( I prefer the thread bobber stops, personally) winds right
in and up onto the reel's spool as it lies flat - yes, right
through the rod's guides and onto the spool - just pretend it
isn't even there! Then, when you cast out, it doesn't
appreciably 'catch' on the outgoing line, off the spool, then
through the guides and out. The bait/lure/jig hits the
water and starts to sink (I like a small slider weight to
give just a little more weight to get down past the smaller fish
faster) and it keeps on sinking until the bobber stop bead at the
top (above bobber) hits the small hole in the bobber - and stops
it exactly where you've set it - no matter how deep! These
slip bobbers are very slender and it takes little resistance for
it to go down when a fish 'hits'!
As mentioned above, I prefer a slider weight at the bottom,
as it gives slightly more weight so the bait sinks slightly
faster - and keeps the eye of the hook from jambing up into the
bottom of the slip bobber barrel.
Each package of three slip bobbers gives you three slip
bobbers, five small (bottom) slider weights, five
top plastic bobber stop beads, five bobber stop threads
(on a short piece of straw) and complete easy to
follow instructions on how to 'string up' your bobber stops (for
those that are new to using 'em). The reason that
there are extra beads/weights and bobber stops included - well -
I just know you'll 'fumble' some - or the wind'll lose them -
they're small - and I seem to always manage to drop/lose 'em too!
Sampler Package: one each, small, medium and large slip
bobbers, and the appropriate beads/bobber stops ( see
above) $7.25 US
3 Single size pack; SMALL - and beads/bobber
stops/instructions (primarily for 'gills, lite bite crappie
and ice fishing) $6.99
US
3 Single size pack; MEDIUM - and beads/bobber stops and
instructions (most common size, used with medium sized
baits/jigs) $7.35
US
3 Single size pack; LARGE - and beads/bobber stops and
instructions ( handles a bit larger baits/jigs, but not huge -
wouldn't hold up an eighth ounce jig and bait, as an example)

EASY
ON/OFF SLIP BOBBERS
(a
relatively
new concept/ tool - and very handy!) Note - users of extremely
light line - 2 and 4 lb test - you must be very
attentive when putting these on so
this fine line doesn't go between special tube and the bobber
shaft.
These are best suited
for 6 lb and higher mono line - unless you're a very careful
person! I use them with the smaller lb tests just fine -
but a few others have mentioned it 'fowls' for them when using
smaller line. This is why I mention that they'll never
replace the standard slip bobbers above!
Finally, someone came up
with a decent easy on/off slip bobber that works! These
allow us to quickly put on a slip bobber - without having to cut
the line and string them up as with the 'conventional' slip
bobbers. Personally I still prefer the better quality
regular slip bobbers (above) when I know I'm going to be using
slip bobbers as the 'main' strategy of any 'given' fishing
expedition. But if you're like me - how often you'll be
fishing and wish you were rigged up with a slip bobber for a
special application. As an example, maybe I'm cast
retrieving along a weed line for largemouth - and I spot a large
toothsome pike off a ways, and in casting distance - I can now
quickly install the easy on/off slip bobber, put on a minnow and
drop it right on his dinner plate. You do need to have a
bobber stop and bobber stop beads already on your line with
whatever lure/hook set-up your using before this will work.
But I do most of the time, leave these relatively insignificant
appliances on my line - just for this extra purpose - and it puts
fish in 'my box' - often! The very
small 1/2 dia easy on/off bobber is for those using extremely
light gear! The medium bobber is the one I use MOST of
the time, and accommodates a number of small jigs and a tag
of crawler. The large easy on/off bobber is considerably
larger and can be used for larger fish/applications - or where
water's rough and you need the 'sight appeal' to see! I t will
accommodate much larger weight and bait. Instructions
are included with each package! Also included in each package - 5
thread bobber stops, five chrome slider weights and five plastic
bobber stop beads - everything you need!
The
extra thread bobber stops and beads are so if you 'fumble' one -
you're still good to go, you see!

EXTRA LARGE - SPECIAL
PURPOSE - EASY ON/OFF SLIP BOBBERS
These are the same as
above - except they are a full 3 inch diameter! Some
fishers rig them up to use as 'marker' buoys of their 'points'
they wish to troll to and work! Yes, catfishermen like 'em
for these very powerful fish - but I seem to sell more of them
for special purpose bobbers for markers and holding/suspending
'stuff' as these take a lot of submerge them, there's also a lot
of 'staying power' needed to keep them from slipping along
the line. So I include 3 thread bobber stops and 3 chrome
slider weights and 3 plastic beads with each of these easy on/off
special purpose bobbers! Instructions enclosed.
