Finally - at long last - here
they are! You've read about 'em in my books - many have
gotten free samples with jig orders - for years - now here they
are, These are chrome plated brass beads,
(not the cheap/light hollow plastic beads found in craft shops)
that can be used to get your bait/lure down deeper - and WITHOUT
the 'dead zone' in the line under a typical split shot.
As well, any of the 'pinch on' split shot always causes a weak
spot in your line - the slider weights don't.
These are simply wonderful for trolling/drift fishing where
you need a LITTLE extra weight. Yes, there are
several sizes available - these simply slip on above the
lure/bait before you tie it on - that's it. Ice
fishers love 'em too - smaller slip sinkers actually become PART
OF your lure/bait presentation and when the bites are
light/neutral/negative - you need EVERY trick in the book!
If you need larger/more slider weights - egg/slip sinkers are
available at most (even small town) tackle shops inexpensively.
I offer these 'tools' 'cause they simply aren't available easily
elsewhere. As mentioned above in the slip bobber section, I
personally use two bobber stop beads - the bottom one is always
one of these small slider weights - because it gives (I always
use as small of a lure/hook as possible) a little more weight to
my lure/bait presentation - so it will cast a bit better - and
get down to the fish a little quicker - often necessary to avoid
hoards of smaller fish. I use these 'in place' of
conventional split shot - as a 'pro' - I need 'consistency' at
catching fish - and these are simply another 'tool of the trade',
not often used by other pros or ardent fishers - we need every
cutting edge we can get! No question though - these are NOT
particularly heavy, and are used for a SMALL BIT of extra weight,
but great for that specific purpose. General easily understood instructions for use with every pack! Small Slider weights Medium Slider Weights Large Slider Weights Note: when/if you need heavier weight, then use simple/inexpensive egg style sinkers or worm caps, etc...these are perfect for balancing slip bobbers and are for when you need just a little bit of weight when ice fishing... 2012 Update!
