HUNTERS/FISHERPEOPLE ARE ENVIRONMENTALISTS

Indeed, one of the FIRST THINGS we learned when I went to college was to DISTANCE OURSELVES from the radical groups - animal rights, PETA, GREENPEACE, and similar organizations. It seems that these people, in my opinion, wrongly label themselves as environmentalists. 

The real environmentalists on this continent are the fine folk whom hunt, fish, trap, and participate within outdoors pursuits of all types. We are the people whom contribute big $$ bucks to be sure that our wild heritage is protected, nurtured and healthy. Too, as participants, we directly, and first hand-edly contribute as PART OF THE ENVIRONMENT, by actually ENTERING THE ECO SYSTEM and doing our part as NATURAL PREDATORS.

Whom has more at stake - to loose - than those actually utilise our re-newable natural resources? 

BUT WE'RE THE ONLY PREDATORS WITH A CONSCIENCE - this can easily be seen - BECAUSE OUR CONSERVATION EFFORTS ARE WORKING and most of these re-newable natural resources are NOT ENDANGERED by hunter/fisher/outdoors environmentalists.

LOSS OF HABITAT - as we all know, is the number one enemy of wild denizens - NOT FROM OVER HUNTING/FISHING as long as we participate in conservation efforts.

POACHING IS NOT HUNTING - Most North American's don't poach, and it is the very few that do that give a bad name to all hunters/fisherpeople. Of course, the anti's mis-construe the facts whenever a poacher is caught, and go for all the press coverage they can, but poaching is ILLEGAL. Hunting/fishing, when obeying game laws, is quite legal, and often necessary, as part of a large population control measure. 

DON'T GIVE IN TO THE ANTI'S - and don't send them any money!

Be sure that whenever you give money to ANY organization for wildlife rehabilitation, be sure that it is going to a cause that you've checked into and is 'legit', and find out that group's position on hunting/fishing/utilization of outdoor activities! 

Much of the money raised by the anti groups go towards large PUBLIC RELATIONS budgets - without a nickel going into the very resource they 'lead people to believe' they are contributing to. DON'T DO IT - DON'T GIVE THEM A DIME - OR A SECOND OF YOUR TIME. 

ALWAYS check to on the credentials, and views about hunting/fishing/trapping of any organization before giving them any money; THIS IS especially so for any of the "Save The" groups. These organizations often solicit funds through TV and media adds - costing much money - the money of those whom have previously donated. The people that donated likely figured their hard earned dollars went into whatever cause they donated to - but did it? - or did it simply go for more PR - to solicit more funding. 

But there's a lot more that we can do. Learn how to fight the anti's, learn strategy to help preserve our wild heritage - for ourselves and future generations - be aware!
