My name is Evert Hamminga born in the municipality of Anlo, presently called AA & Hunze, Drenthe, the Netherlands, on 31 August 1925, son of Roelf Hamminga and Marchien Stenveld. I arrived in Canada on 2 June 1953 (a move never regretted) with my wife, Annigje Helena nee Brouwer, born in Donkerbroek, Friesland. However, I had the unfortunate experience to lose her by death in 1967. We had 3 children, Roelf (Ralph), Hilda and Marian. The following year I married Anna Elizabeth van Ham nee Oosters, born in Willemstad, N.B. daughter of Cornelis Oosters and Adriana Pieternella van Gend. She also had the unfortunate experience to lose her spouse, Jozua van Ham, in 1965. She was left with 5 children, Matthew, Cornelis (Case), William (Bill), Nancy and John. |
