Dave, who's last name is pronounced Snihur like "fi-re," grew up in Owen Sound, Ontario and gave his life to Christ in 1974. He attended Canadian Bible College in Regina for one year, completed his B.A. in religious studies at the University of Waterloo and then earned an M. Div from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He was ordained as a minister in 1981 and served as an evangelical pastor in the United Church of Canada for 18 years. During that time he served on the editorial board of Fellowship Magazine and was also the Chairman of the National Alliance of Covenanting Congregations within the United Church of Canada. In 1999 Dave left the United Church in order to start the Woodstock Community Church, a Christ-centered, contemporary and casual church designed to reach young unchurched families for Jesus Christ. After serving as Pastor of that church for 7 years he felt called to leave full-time pastoral ministry for a while to pursue a career of speaking, writing and Christian drama. Dave has written two unpublished books, "The Life You've Been Missing" and "Instant Worship Skits - Two people, two minutes, to bring WOW to your worship!" Dave has been happily married to his wife, Caron for over thirty five years and they have an adult son Gray. Dave has been the pastor of Egerton Church since January of 2009. He is very happy to be the Pastor of Egerton Church and to be a part of the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec.
