It's 1964 and rock-and-roll singer Conrad Birdie is about to be inducted into the army. As a publicitiy stunt, his agent has him bid good-bye with a kiss for an all-American girl in Sweet Apple Ohio. Chaos ensues when a brush with stardom is more than the folks of Sweet Apple can handle. This energetic and tuneful hit, with songs such as -
