meet the PASTOR!

A bit of Rev. Deane Proctor’s Story
·Was raised in Port Stanley Ontario a fishing village on the north shore of Lake Erie. He hates fishing.
·During his high school years at Arthur Voaden Secondary School (go Vikings !!) Deane fully intended to become a professional musician. As it turns out, that requires talent.
·In 1987 he began work in the radio broadcasting industry at the former CHLO Radio in St Thomas where talent was not so much a requirement as it was a rarity.
·After 7 years and a world of experiences and during a period of great personal turmoil Deane left the radio business and began a new life journey walking with the Lord Jesus Christ.
·That journey eventually included a call to pastoral ministry and following studies at McMaster Divinity College in Hamilton Ontario he was ordained to the Pastoral Ministry within the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec at a service held at Dutton Baptist Church in April 2005.
·Pastor Deane is married to Annette and is the proud dad of Cassidy and Joelle.

Favorite Quote:
"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -- on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg -- or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."
