If you are a hunter and you are not yet convinced that the Liberals WILL take your semi-auto hunting and trap firearms, We respectfully suggest you look at the firearms in the poster above, and review the policy program of the Liberal Party at its convention, happening this weekend in Montreal. In particular, review this resolution, passed:
Resolution #42: Automatic and Semi-automatic WeaponsWHEREAS automatic and semi-automatic weapons are illegal for hunting purposes; and
WHEREAS automatic and semi-automatic weapons do not support the hunting culture found in all parts of Canada;
BE IT RESOLVED that the Liberal Party of Canada urge the Government of Canada to support legislation to eliminate the personal use of automatic and semi-automatic weapons.
National Women's Liberal Commission - Liberal Party of Nova Scotia
Never mind that the resolution is factually inaccurate, by a long way. This follows the view of IANSA, that hunters only need a single shot firearm to hunt with.
The Antis Continue!
While the recent flap over the semi-auto ban "rumour" has subsided in the face of a massive response by grass roots supporters of the CPC and individual firearms owners, the battle is by no means over. While the CPC finds itself in difficult discussions due to their minority position, firearms owners must not relax their guard. It should be EXTRAORDINARILY CLEAR to any firearms owner, sport or hunter, that the Liberal Party wants your guns. Never content to allow facts to obscure an ideology, The Liberals will screw you over to get their way. Stand up and defend your rights while you still can.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, and you damned well better, is to write a letter. On paper. Make three copies. Send them to the following addresses:
Your MP's name can be found here.Your MP's Name

1. The government must keep it's promise to end the long gun registry.
2. The government must not enact any restrictions on semi-automatic firearms.
Letters must be positive and favorable towards the government. They are still our friends.
If your MP is in opposition, write anyway - let him know exactly how you, his constituent, feels.
Nobody cares about grammar or spelling here, we just want the letters written and SENT! Scratch it on the back of a coaster at the local pub, put the address on it and send it for all we care, just put it down on paper and send it.
No stamps are needed for these letters. Write OHMS on the envelope where the stamp would go.Once you've done that, you're not finished. Make anyone you know who has guns do the same. Print off this post and hand it to every gun owner you can find.
Folks, this is it. We stop them here and now, or we lose. We have to make our voices heard. We need to make sure every MP hears our message, politely, respectfully, but firmly delivered, regardless of the party affiliation. As a firearms owner, no matter what the discipline, if you haven't expressed your concerns and directions to your MP, do so now, and remind him regularly!
Don't send an email - WRITE!
And remember - in the election coming in the not-too-distant future, election of the Liberal Party will destroy Canada as you know and love it. This is your Waterloo! Give no quarter!
