Corporations and Businesses ----------------------------------------- GENEtech Started in the 70's as a small pharmaceutical plant, GENEtech was bought out by a powerful businessman who, in a few short years, turned the business into the corporate giant it is today. Those who run GENEtech are more interested in making money rather than healing others. While some protest groups have organized to try to force changes in business policy, they have had little success. GENEtech remains one of the leading firms in medical research and development. GENEtech produces a wide range of medical pills and supplements for over-the-counter sale, all are expensive, which is the main complaint of the protesters. GENEtech also conducts research into possible cures for life threatening diseases, cloning, and the possibility to destroy cancerous cells with the need for surgery or high radiation. GENEtech has is main office/research plant located in the city of Detroit, Michigan in America, along with two large plants in San Francisco and New York and a smaller operation in Nevada. They are an international company and have major plants in France, China, Germany, and several small plants located throughout Europe and South America. GENEtech holds a secret known only to a select few: it is a front used by Shadoloo to conduct research into it's own projects. These projects include cloning, genetic manipulation and altering, the creation of animal hybrids, genetic weapons and deadly strains of viruses, as well as other deadly projects. Regular employees are unaware that they are working above Shadoloo labs, even the current President is unaware of is going on, although a few long time employees may have noticed a few odd things. Each GENEtech center holds a cell of a Shadoloo Genetic Research division, or SGR. The scientists of the SGR are completely loyal to Shadoloo out of greed and an acute sense of self-preservation. Coordinators of the SGR hold some level of administrative power, either being head of a department, assistant manager or manager of a GENEtech center. They report monthly to the Coordinator in Detroit who in turn reports directly to a regional Overlord. SGR - Shadoloo division of GENEtech (overview) ----------------------------------------------------------------- - creates drugs for mind control & obedience - creates physical and mental enhances (temporary and permanent) - creation of clones based on genetic samples level C - basic functions, no personality, only follows orders level B - basic & moderate functions, personality differs from original level A - complete duplicate physically, same personality as original or slight, subtle difference - creation of monitor cyborgs - electronics supplied by Shadoloo's robotics division model 1 - cybernetics visible, acts like a machine model 2 - cybernetics partially visible, acts somewhat human model 3 - no cybernetics showing, acts human - creation of deadly viruses and genetic weapons - Project: Dark Reflection - Project: Shadow Warrior Notes -------- Mind Control & Obedience Drugs: Harmless looking, resembles head-ache tablets. More pills taken, more susceptible a person is. Drugs uses same table as Mind Control. If person consumes 6 pills in 24 hours, they are completely under thrall, some immediate, others over long periods of time. Physical and Mental enhances - Enhance Strength, Stamina, Intelligence, Perception, either temporarily (1 hour game-time) or permanently. Enhancers will raise a stat by 1 point. Total of 20 permanent enhancers must be taken before a point can be permanently added to a stat. Enhancers are given out in a single dosage and are very costly or a favor is required. Temporarily enhancers have an addictive side-effect, a character wanting them. After 20 dosages, the character's body is so hooked on the enhancers, he will have terrible withdrawal pains if he goes 24 hours without taking an enhancer. Animal Hybrids - Depending on level, animal attributes are gained based on animal type. 1 point added to physical attribute based on animal type. Possible side-effects and sudden social stigma and problems associated with hybrids. Clones: level determines adaptability into human society, can be programmed for tasks as per level. Or have instructions buried with the persona that will activate once a word or phrase is spoken. Monitor Cyborgs - Give visual equipment and radar transmitter/receivers. Only level 3 can be adequately programmed with self-defense subroutines. Project: Dark Reflection - This project is an advancement of the cloning technique. Genetic material is taken from a subject and placed into a special matrix. As the clone is developing, various enhancements to physical and mental traits are made, as well as programming that makes the clone completely loyal to Shadoloo and new skills that may prove useful. Once fully formed, the clone can be released into the public. Only fighters are targeted for this project. Clones are completely physically identical to the original. Personalities may be similar or may be altered, emphasizing a particular trait: aggression, cruelty, rage, hatred. Clones can be used for a variety of missions: espionage, kidnapping, assassination, or simply to ruin a fighter's reputation. These clones, although potentially superior to the originals, all have once curious defect: they are unable to harness chi. Creating a Dark Reflection fighter -------------------------------------------- - Distribute 5 points amongst Strength, Dexterity, Stamina, Perception, Intelligence (Max 2 points in one Attribute). - Remove any Focus points and Focus based maneuvers. - Add 3 points to Health (20 max) - Distribute 4 points to existing or new abilities. - determine if any modifications have been made to the clone's personality. Project: Shadow Warrior - The project began in the torture chambers of Mriganka. One of Bison's scientists was granted the privilege of experimenting on the body of a reptilian animal hybrid that had recently died. Curious to see if he could find anything useful, the scientist was examining the body when the equipment suffered a power surge. The electrical charge caused the body to sit upright for a moment before it collapsed. Inspired by the incident, the scientist began looking at ways to reanimate dead tissue that didn't require massive amounts of electronics to be grafted on to a subject. Thus, the Shadow Warrior project was born. The body of a dead fighter is placed in a coffin-like machine and any remaining body fluids are removed. Next, a serum containing a small number of nanites and biological instruction enzymes are injected into what was once the bloodstream. A brief burst of direct electrical current is directed at the body, which initializes the biological instructions. Hours after a Shadow Warrior is animated, their skin begins to darken. This is thought to be a result of the serum that acts as "blood". Colourization ranges from grey to black-grey. While fresh bodies are preferred for this project, corpses that have been somewhat preserved have been successfully animated, as witnessed by the reanimation of an American soldier who had died in Bison's torture chamber. A Shadow Warrior is little more than a mindless drone. While the fighting skills remain, any trace of personality is absent, all that's left is the ability to follow orders. The rumor that some warriors are remembering their former lives is unfounded. Though not a complete success, the Dark Warrior project was been capable of animating enough bodies to ensure its continued survival. Creating a Shadow Warrior ------------------------------------ - A Shadow Warrior can only be created if Shadoloo would be able to gain possession of a dead character's body immediately after death, or if the body wasn't completely destroyed. - Remove all Charisma points and subtract at least 2-3 Appearance points. - Shadow Warriors cannot be dizzied and whatever damage they take is halved, as they can't feel pain. (ex. a Shadow Warrior receives 3 points of damage from an attack that would normally cause 6 points) - As a Shadow Warrior is no longer alive, standard difficulty for Focus maneuvers is 8.
