JAPANESE PAPER DOLLS
This style of dollmaking originated in Japan more than three
centuries ago. Hundreds of these dolls were made based on characters
from the famous Kabuki Theatre. They depict many folk cultures,
traditions, social classes and historic periods. |

Following tradition, the dolls do not have eyes, noses or mouths because; it is said that the facial expression changes according to the imagination of the owner. |
