Who Died of Congested Heart Failure

May 21, 1996  -  Nov. 26, 2005

Sorrow fills a barren space;
you close your eyes and see my face
and think of times I made you laugh,
the love we shared, the bond we had,
the special way I needed you -
the friendship shared by just we two.

The day's too quiet, the world seems older,
the wind blows now a little colder.
You gaze into the empty air
and look for me, but I'm not there -
I'm in heaven and I watch you,
and I see the world around you too.

My pain and suffering came to an end,
so don't cry for me, my person, my friend.
But think of the living -
those souls with fur
(some who bark and some who purr) -
And though our bond can't be broken apart,
make room for another in your home and
your heart.

I wish I had a daisy
for each time you've crossed my mind,
I'd lay a trail of white and gold
across the great divide.

I wish I had an orchid
for each tear I've cried for you,
I'd fill the deepest ocean
and watch the waves come through.

I wish I had a lily
for each memory that we made,
I'd plant them in the clouds
in tribute to your loving ways.

I wish I had a rosebud
for each earthly day you lived,
so I could pave a soft and fragrant path
to your new home at Rainbow Bridge.

"Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye."

A PRAYER TO ST. PETER

I have traveled so far to reach this Pearly Gate.
But I do not want to wander beyond this place.
I just need to rest for awhile for my friend, I wait.

Please let them know I love them still.
With my body gone, my spirit flew on the wing of a dove.
To my Creators Heaven above.

Now I ask that I may wait. I will lay quietly by the gate.

For if I entered now without my friend.
It wouldn't be Heaven at all...

My Forever Friend

I know that it must be different,
now that I am no longer here.
I realize how much I was loved
and how all of you did care.

I know it will be hard at first
when you look around for me.
Expecting to find me in my bed
or beside my favorite tree.

Someday you will begin to see,
although it'll take some time,
the happy times you shared with me,
the memories are yours and mine.

I'll remember you, my family,
and how much you meant to me.
So please don't grieve and don't be sad,
it was just my time to leave.

"If you could see me now... I am walking streets of gold.
If you could see me now... I am standing tall and whole.
If you could see me now... You'd know I'd seen His face.
If you could see me now... You'd know the pain's erased.
You wouldn't want me to ever leave this perfect place.
If you could only see me now."

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, and water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and are old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing, they miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His eyes are intent, his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster., You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together:

Rest in Peace My Precious Prince
