LETTER TO MY HUSBAND
Do you remember, darling, when
We met so long ago?
We were so very different then;
We had so much to grow...
But growing seemed so easy
As we struggled hand in hand.
We had our love to guide us
And we proudly took our stand.
Remember on our wedding day
As I became your bride?
You watched me walking down the aisle
And gazed at me with pride.
Then soon our babies came along
Like gifts from up above
And we would hold each other close.
We were so much in love!
We also shared the trying times
When everything went wrong,
But we could always get on top.
Together we were strong.
Of course it wasn't perfect.
Nothing ever is in life.
But what we had was more than most;
We conquered all our strife.
Now, as the years have come and gone,
We both have changed so much,
Yet there is nothing sweeter than
Your tender, loving touch.
Though sometimes we may quarrel, dear,
You're still the one for me.
It's you that I still need for life.
Don't ever set me free.
Forever yours,
Your loving Wife
