Message from Barbara

To all of you who have taken the time to write to me with comments about my poems, a very sincere, "THANK YOU!"

I have had a number of people ask whether or not these poems are about me.

The answer is, "Although some may ring of personal experience, most of them are a composite of different experiences, mine as well as those of friends and strangers who have shared their feelings with me throughout the years."

I try to see life not only through my eyes
But feel the pain and the joy of those around me as well.
Sometimes, those feelings scream for a voice.
It is my wish that I may be that voice in whatever way possible.

AND SO:

If when you read my poems
You can see a bit of you
Then I'll know I have accomplished
What I first set out to do.
For deep in every one of us
Are feelings old and new
And always there, behind the veils,
Are fantasies we hide from view.
