Simcoe Christmas Panorama
SIMCOE CHRISTMAS PANORAMA
The Simcoe Christmas Panorama
What a wondrous sight to see!
People come from miles around
To view it, and it's free.
As children wander down the paths
Of myth and fantasy,
Their eyes grow wide and brightly glow.
They laugh with joy and glee.
There's a weebly-wobbly Humpty Dumpty
Atop an old brick wall.
Oh my! I hope the wind won't blow
Or else he just might fall!
There is Rub-a-dub-dub - three men in a tub;
There's a pie with fat blackbirds;
There are three little pigs and the big, bad wolf...
Sights too marvelous for words!
See Santa hanging in a tree?
Oh! What a funny sight!
But look! He's standing up again
And winking at the night.
There's Dexter the popcorn dragon
Guarding the castle moat,
And a brightly lit boat on the river
That is trying to stay afloat.
There is Santa Clauses workshop.
My! My! What a busy place!
The elves are creating Christmas toys,
And one's tying Santa's shoelace.
There are little tin soldier and dollies,
Teddy bears and candy canes too;
And Santa's preparing to fill his sleigh
To bring them to folks like you.
There is Frosty the magical snowman
And Crystal his glowing bride...
On their faces a smile of Christmas cheer
And of joy that they cannot hide.
Eight prancing reindeer with bells on their reins
And Rudolph, the one with the shiny red nose,
Are waiting to pull old St. Nick Christmas Eve
No matter how snowy or stormy it blows.
There is tiny Tim Cratchit carried by dad...
He's crippled, you know, be still he is glad
For he's waiting to offer his blessings to all
And wishes for good times to come... not sad.
Old Mr. Scrooge in his easy chair
Looks as though to sleep he might fall.
But look!!! Look behind him! Look very close...
The Christmas ghost is about to call.
There are perky penguins to greet the folks
From their tiny but warm igloo.
Real live ducks and swans and Canada geese
Quack and honk out their welcome too.
The proud towering windmill also waves
To passersby with glittering arms
And lends to this festive season
Some of its majestic charms.
The Union Jack and our red Maple Leaf
Recall history to mind.
The lighthouse beacon blinks hello
Helping folks their way to find.
And there, standing out against the sky,
Reminding us of the holy birth
The cross of Jesus Christ proclaims
The cause for the season's mirth.
And there is the Blessed Holy Child
Asleep on a modest bed of hay...
Protected by angels and wise men and lambs,
Our reason for Christmas day.
So come! Behold the spectacle!
Recapture once again
The joy of the Christmas spirit
Peace and love for your fellow man.
