And the Two Are One

With bodies intertwined they climbed together to the peak
Then slowly they descended, bodies trembling, bodies weak
From weakness grew a bond of strength cemented by their love
With love, ecstatic dreams were shared
With love's emotion fears were bared
With love the two were one

With hopeful hearts they travelled oér a plain of wedded life
And though at times their paths were barred by sadness and by strife
From strife evolved a need to share, from sadness friendship grew
Though love took them through rocky fields
Still love produced its precious yields
And still the two were one

For years they climbed the mountain and most times they reached the top
And, if they'd reach a precipice they simply couldn't stop
To bridge each gap they had to face, the two would struggle on
For love had bound them by a force
That could not profit by divorce
And still the two are one.
