REINCARNATION

I know not if I've lived before,
Or that I'll live again,
And yet a voice from deep within
Says, "Death is not the end."

I know not what this inner voice
Is trying to reveal
And yet it haunts me day to day
With passion and appeal.

Is fate a foregone destiny?
Is this life but a state?
Would death today bring life anew
My hung'ring soul to sate?

Was there a time beyond recall
That knew a different me?
Are other realms for me in store
That I can not now see?

If it is so, then all comes clear.
The past, the future, now...are one
And life goes on eternally.
I cannot from it run

For, if it's true I've lived before,
Then I must live again.
Until transgressions are appeased
My soul for peace must yen
