BEGINNING OF THE END
All eyes were fast upon her
As she walked into the room
The radiant glow upon her face
Dispelled all sense of gloom
She didn't see the glances
Of the people all around
Or the envy of the ladies
As the men all gathered ‘round
Her eyes were brightly sparkling
On her lips a cheerful smile
Her voice was soft, like angel song
In her step there was real style
In her life there was no place
For trivialities or hate
But only space for love to grow
For friends who'd learn her fate
For little did the gath'ring crowd
Know that her days were few
And she'd determined not to mope
But live each day anew
Her courage showed in every word
She spoke with gentleness
Her pain was hid in laughter
That refused to yield to stress
The enemy that gnawed her flesh
With tendrils choking out her life
Would rob her of the joys and dreams
Of being loving mom or wife
But she'd decided not to mope
Enjoy each precious day she had
And give to all her loved ones hope
Shield them from being grieved and sad
What would you do if she were you?
How could you with it cope?
How would you spend remaining days?
In agony? Or hope?
