Lot Number: 9 Steelhead Manor    Pictures     Note: The pictures of the trailer do not show the new laminate flooring and loveseat in the family room.

Description of the site:

Lot 9 is located in the section of the park named "Smurf Mountain". It is shaded by trees and backs onto a ravine overlooking the Bayfield River. In addition to the trailer, you will find:

  • a shed
  • a covered patio area
  • picnic & patio tables
  • lawn chairs
  • a fire pit (some fire wood is supplied)
  • barbeque

Looking at the lot from the road, on the left there are tall cedars separating Lot 9 from Lot 10; on the right a fence; and at the back a fortified rail fence overlooking the ravine. The parking area is in the front.

The trailer is approximately 32' x 8' feet and is parked length-wise along the fence between Lot 8 & 9. There is an attached four-season family room that is 17' x 10'. You enter the family room from the front door. This room has laminate flooring. It contains:

  • a table with 4 chairs
  • a couch that pulls out to a double bed
  • a loveseat, 2 armchairs, and an end table
  • a small cupboard with a VCR, DVD and 14" colour TV. The TV does not pick up any stations and is there for use with the VCR/DVD. If you need a TV fix, there is satellite TV in the Recreation building.

Entrance to the kitchen is on the right. The thermostat for the furnace is located on the wall behind the armchair. In addition to the sink, stove top, and fridge, the kitchen contains:

  • a couch that slides down to a bed
  • an armchair and a drop table that can be pulled up between the armchair and the couch
  • a built in bench/table area that can be converted to a childs bed
  • microwave
  • toaster oven
  • coffeepot
  • toaster
  • pots and pans
  • silverware and dishes

Passing through the kitchen takes you to the 4-piece bathroom. The toilet is a "trailer toilet" with a foot flush and a holding tank which runs into the sewer system. NOTE: only single ply toilet paper is to be flushed down any toilets in the park. Anything else will plug the whole system. We provide Single ply toilet paper. Also note that one of the public washrooms is approximately 50 yards from the trailer should you need a 2nd toilet or shower.

Passing through the bathroom takes you to the bedroom containing a double bed and storage areas. The hydro box is located on the right near the floor as you enter the bedroom. There is a door from this room to the covered patio area.

The propane water heater is located at the fence-side of the trailer near the bedroom end. The propane tanks are located along the fence at the front of the trailer.

Water to the trailer comes from a hose hooked up to the post located on the cedar side of the lot. The hydro to the trailer also comes from that side. Water in the park is tested daily and is safe to drink.

What you need to bring:
  • Pillows and Bedding
  • Bath towels, wash clothes, tea towels, dish clothes, and soaps.
  • All toiletries
  • VHS or DVD movies (or you can rent them from the variety store in Bayfield located between the grocery store and the LCBO)

The Park:    Pictures

Wildwood is a relatively quiet family-orientated park. If you are looking to spend some quality time with your family and friends or to get away for some relaxation time, you've come to the right place!

Wildwood is an unusual park in that terrain is vastly different with waterfront sites to sites high up on ravines overlooking the river. The park has a wide variety of mature trees providing homes for birds (including humming birds) and shade from the hot summer sun. There are also open areas around the pool for those who want to work on their tans. All but 8 sites are privately owned. The park is open all year round, although in the winter the water to the trailers is shut off so you must bring bottled water for use in the trailer. All the public washrooms and the laundry are fully functional year round.

There are 3 public washrooms throughout the park as well as a recreation building. These buildings all have toilets and showers. The recreation building is the centre of many activities including pool tables, fooze ball, and satellite tv plus events such as Friday night "buck night" where you can get supper for a few bucks -- depending upon your appetite. There is also a book exchange area near the main entrance. The swimming and wading pools, and pop and juice machines are located behind the recreation building. The mini-golf is in front. There is coin laundry located to the right as you enter the park. Bring your own soap, etc.
