- the bottom line is that we need the help of everyone on the society executive.

If you are not happy with our conclusions (in the attached "We elect to do the following"), please let us know and provide your suggestions.

We have again included all of the e-mail addresses for those executive members for whom we have an e-mail address. This has been done so that you can communicate directly with each other (if you wish). However, we would also appreciate it if you would include the other executive members in your mailings to us - so that we can all be informed of the ensuing discussions at the same time - and thereby be able to comment on same. We have chosen this method over the Chat Room meeting proposal because they have not worked well in the past.

The personal messages pertaining to orders, payments and choices referred to in the following letter will be sent under separate cover.

As most of you will be aware, our society operates on a "shoe-string budget" - which means that without donations or some means of raising funds, we cannot survive. Our board of directors gave approval to "THE COMPLETE ECHOES v4-10" (TCE) project - with the proviso that it must be self financing. This meant that if we were to hold to the $200.00 CAN price per set we would need 200 prepaid orders; as you can see from the stats below, we are far short of that goal. We had further set a time goal to obtain these prepaid orders by the end of 2005; as you can see, we are also far from that goal.

So we are left with some hard choices, if we are to continue with the project:-
1) since there has already been years of labour contributed to these works                         and;
2) since Fred & Kathy 198 & 199 have donated $5,000.00 "seed money"
    from their savings to get production underway which has been spent
                    and;
3) it seems that there is at least some interest in purchasing these works;

We elect to do the following:-
1) Advise those who have ordered and not yet paid of the circumstances
                and hope that they will pay now;
2) advise those who were originally to receive a complementary set
        - that this option is no longer valid
                    and offer them the opportunity to pay for a set;
3) advise the libraries (other than the National Libraries, who must receive
        2 copies by law) that we must now ask them
                                    to pay for the sets they will receive;
4) consider delaying full production (ie end date for issue) for
        another year; and lastly
5) solicit the help of the board members, society family reps and all
                executive members plus any other interested cousins to contact
                        their family members, friends etc. to obtain the required
                            orders by the new target date of Dec 2006.

Note 1 - These were to be approved by the board as a reward to cousins who have made very significant contributions to acgs inc over the many past years of our incorporation.
