Doug continually updates his skills through his memberships and in-service
training, as well as conferences and
workshops and conventions. Doug has trained and learned his craft from some of

Leon "Buttons" McBride, Steve "Peachey Keene" Long, David
"Mr. Rainbow" Bartlett, Carol "Clarol" Crooks, Bob &

And most importantly, Doug has had twenty-five years of on-the-job
experience, working with some of the finest entertainers around. Doug had
the honour and the privilege to learn from the best as well as share his knowledge

the organizers arrive!) This means you never have to worry about your

Knock on wood! - Doug has only missed two performances due to illness, in
over twenty years of entertaining. That's almost as good as Cal Ripkin's record.
A Family Entertainer 
Being a family man and a big kid himself, Doug knows and respects family
values and only uses humour that the whole family can enjoy.
A Great Magician
Doug earned the "Stan Hall Award for Magician of the Year" from the
Magic Wand Club (Ring 49) in Hamilton.
Funny
Doug was a finalist in "Closet Comics" and "So, You Think
You're Funny" - comedy competitions.
A Conscientious Citizen
Doug and his World Record Stilt Walk Team were raised over $35,000 in support
of persons with physical disabilities. Doug regularly lends his support to a
variety of charitable events.
Doug was voted the "Jaycees Outstanding Young Citizen of the Year,"
and was a top 5 finalist as the "Expositor Citizen of the Year"
(twice). The Brant Chapter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario
recognized him as "Volunteer of the Year."

A Little Crazy
After 2 1/2 years, Doug set the Guinness World Record for Tallest Stilt Walker, on
September 23, 1998, by taking 54 independent steps, on stilts measuring 50 feet
5 inches.
