this series was created in response to a call for submissions for the 9th annual collage exchange in new zealand, run by dale copeland. you can see the site for the series here. the exchange requires 13 collages, but i expect the series will continue on after the exchange.
in wanting to work in collage again, i decided to try something different, photocollage, but in 3-d. the result was a series of boxes with pop-up photocollages inside, made to look like books. the images inside the boxes are built to fit around the edges. the outsides are bound in cloth, and tied with a ribbon, with a quilt-like image on the cover that reflects small parts of the images inside.
