this series was shown at the McIntosh Gallery in an exhibit called "generating voice II", in 1994, along with the series 'dreams and nightmares'. i created it in remembrance of a friendship with a woman named ann, who had been like a sister to me for 9 years. not all of the pieces are shown here, most have been destroyed.

this is the series that also spawned the book 'the secret heart'. the story titled 'the secret heart' is what is written on the scroll that goes with the nest-head figure.
